Tie-in behind single valve isolation
Fluxys Belgium is registered on the Euronext and is part of the Gas Infrastructure Group Fluxys with their HQ in Belgium. With 900 employees the company operates 4.000 km of pipelines, a LNG import terminal with a capacity of 9 BCM and an underground gas storage.
For a planned intervention requiring the cutting of a 36” major international gas transport pipeline, Valvetight was requested to safely isolate a passing valve 13 km upstream on location Heist op den Berg. It concerned a single underground ball valve. The DBB-SAVER was connected to the body cavity by a 1” drain connection making sure there was zero passing of any gas towards the intervention location.
As the valve station was very near a block of houses and the DBB-SAVER was required to operate 24h for 4 days in a row, a silencer has been used to good effect to not disturb the neighbours. We thank Fluxys for another project executed in excellent cooperation together.
